Green Thumbs (or lack of) & More JJ to Love!

Well, it has been way too long since I last posted! Honestly, nothing THAT exciting has been going on! EXCEPT...a garden surprisingly grew one day on the side of our house! Seriously, I thought we had a load of weeds taking over our side flower bed...and in my attempt to resist all "responsible homeownership-ish type of chores", I pretended like they weren't there. (Since, we are renting at the moment, I am taking FULL advantage of the lack of responsibility.) Anyhoo...GOOD THING I DID! What I thought was big ol' spiky weeds have turned out to be a bunch of sunflowers (and other yummy treats). Let me add, these are not just any run-of-the-mill sunflowers...they are the BIGGEST sunflowers I have ever seen!

Check out this Mutha' Sunflowa' (about ONE MILLION seeds to harvest...)

This beaut is from a bunch at my front door...

This vine is like 15 feet long! We have decided these are pumpkins!! Can't wait for October!

...wish I liked maters, we have several of these just growing their little seeds out.

RASPBERRIES!!! yum, yum, yum, YUM!

This is actually an avocado plant, that my mother and I grew from a pit. One of the exciting experiments we did together as roomies...

Jasper has been growing up soooo quickly...and can't believe it! He has six teeth, and working on two more (up top), he has been crawling, pulling himself up on anything within arm's reach. I swear, I see him scanning the room even before his chubby little legs hit the ground! He actually learned how to get himself down from a standing position a couple weeks ago...Whew. His favorite hobbies as of late include throwing/chasing balls and soda cans, listening to jambands (ladies, I tried Madonna - Immaculate Collection with no interest), playing Patty-Cake, he also likes to say his first word, "Mom". Yes, you read right...HE IS SAYING MOM!!!!! Pj and I went in to get him from his nap this past weekend, and he pulled himself up in the crib, looked at me and in the sweetest, most clear & concise voice, he politely said, "Mom"...and then held his arms out! Here are a few pics from the past couple of weeks...

Oh, how Jasper LOVES, LOVES, LOVES his Daddy!

One of his favorite foods, Sweet Potatoes!

Laughing at his new toy, his little red fire engine...which he promptly picked up and threw.

So Charming...Hey Ladies!

Dang, I'm Cute.

Trying to get the camera...Welcome to a mummy's world...(I could be holding a piece of poop, and he would want it.)

Having fun pulling himself up and dancing to his fav show on PBS, Sid the Science Kid.

Naptime Over! Come and Get me!!

I hope you enjoyed the slideshow!

Ta-ta for now,

Kat
